BIOGRAPHY

Yura Yang studied conducting from 2009 to 2013 with Prof. Joachim Harder at the Musikhochschule Detmond. Since 2013 she has been solo repetiteur with conducting duties at the Musikteater im Revier, where she has conducted several children’s concerts and covered the musical direction of Moultaka’s „King Hamed and Princess Sherifa“ and conducted Jerry Bock’s „Anatevka“.

In the 14/15 season Yura Yang received the Bergische Sinfoniker’s conducting scholarship, where she directed children’s concerts, assisted the general music director Peter Kuhn in, and conducted a performance of, Bizet’s „Carmen“. She has also assisted Alexander Meyer at the Landes-Jugend-Sinfonie-Orchester Saar. In 2016 Yura Yang was accepted into the Dirigentenforum des Deutschen Musikrates.

In the current season Yura Yang is the musical assistant to Julia Jones for a production of „Don Giovanni“ at the Nederlandse Reisopera, where she will conduct several performances on tour.
